&pageText=Once you assemble the weapon, you must perform a function check to ensure the machine gun was assembled properly. The eight steps to performing a function check on the M240B are:& &label1=Switch safety to FIRE& &label2=Pull cocking handle to rear, return forward& &label3=Close cover& &label4=Switch safety to SAFE& &label5=Pull trigger& &label6=Switch safety to FIRE& &label7=Ride bolt forward& &label8=Close ejection port cover& &poptext1=Ensure safety is set to FIRE.& &poptext2=Pull cocking handle to rear, locking bolt to the rear of receiver. Return cocking handle forward.& &poptext3=Close and lock cover.& &poptext4=Switch safety to SAFE.& &poptext5=Pull trigger and ensure bolt does not go forward.& &poptext6=Return safety to FIRE.& &poptext7=Pull and hold cocking handle to the rear, pull trigger, and gently ease bolt forward.& &poptext8=Close ejection port cover on underside of receiver.&
